Dixie products undergo a series of validation tests to ensure optimum output performance is achieved on every unit manufactured.

Dixie Electric is ISO9001:2015 certified with TUV Rheinland of North America

Starter Testing

Dixie uses D&V starter testers for all production starters. We have ST-24 and ST-116 testers on the production lines as well as ST-10, ST-12 and ST-16 testers. All of the testers are programmed with critical solenoid and motor parameters. Any unit that does not meet the requirements does not receive a pass report.

Alternator Testing

Dixie uses D&V alternator testers for all of its production. We have ALT-198 and ALT-186 testers in use in our production area as well as older testers (ALT-98, ALT-98HD and ALT-99 models). The testers are programmed by part number to verify alternator output (voltage and amperage) and regulator functions, including computer communication functions. All testers are set with predefined limits that prevent any incorrect part from moving further in the process.

Component Testing

Many of the component testers follow the same principles as the starter and alternator testers, with preset parameters for each component stored in the machine to ensure consistent product quality. Components such as solenoids and stators are tested checking insulation integrity with high voltage leakage tests and coil integrity is checked using surge testers.

Validation Testing

Starters

Each new starter prototype is tested for performance and component durability through repeated cycles of simulated engine cranking.
Our machines can test up to 4 starter motors simultaneously.
Dixie provides a complete report and data after each test process.

Alternators

Each new alternator prototype is tested for efficiency and endurance in a chamber where extreme environmental conditions are simulated.
Dixie measures over 100 different alternator parameters.
